| Bel-Air is the oldest equestrian riding centre in Ireland and shines through as a charming Irish country house hotel offering really exciting riding for intermediate plus riders, including dressage, show jumping and a great cross country course. |
Summary of the trip:
This BHS approved riding establishment sits on the edge of the pretty town of Ashford, just 40 minutes from Dublin, and in Country Wicklow, an area described as 'The Garden of Ireland'
The farm and riding centre are run by the Freeman family, and they are passionate about their horses. They have a really good selection, including horses they have bred themselves through generations, and ones they have bought from reputable breeders in Ireland - some have even gone on to excel in the show ring, and others on the hunting fields in Wicklow & Wexford.
The riding holidays here can be tailor made to meet individuals requirements, and include riding out, dressage & show jumping, but what makes this place really special is their fantastic cross country course and the manner in which they are able to boost a riders confidence over fences.
Mock hunts, shows, dressage events, and hunter trials all take place at Bel-Air throughout the year, and just by being there, you will experience a slice of Irish equestrian life. |
